ABOUT USThis grand house was built in 1884, originally as the Manse for Kingussie's Free Presbyterian Church. Funds were provided by a local man, George Ross Mackenzie, who emigrated to the USA and found fortune, becoming president of the Singer Sewing Machine Company. Converted to a Hotel in the 1960s, it has been completely refurbished throughout to very high standards of comfort. The Scot House has been under the ownership of Paul and Kathy Simpson since 2005, and is managed by Paul's parents, Colin and Helen Wilkins. A major refurbishment was undertaken in 2007, which upgraded the public areas and bedrooms, and installed new en-suite bathroom facilities throughout the property. New products continue to be developed, including special offers for short breaks, holiday weekends and more. The newest member of the team, Head Chef Catherine MacIntosh is creating new menus to take full advantage of the superb meat, fish, game and other produce of the Highlands. Our website will keep you posted of exciting new developments as they occur. Please watch these pages, or join our email list and we will send you news and offers direct to your inbox. In the meantime, Colin and Helen assure you of the very warmest of authentic Scottish Highland welcomes at the Scot House Hotel.
